I am broadly interested in phytoplankton and their life-strategies in aquatic environments. Their distribution and community composition in the northern San Francisco Estuary (nSFE) are of particular importance to me. The nSFE is a particularly disturbed ecosystem with further disturbance planned in the near future. Coordination and communication among scientists in the nSFE is crucial to producing science that can inform management.
